SpamTitan protects Thermocopy of Tennessee’s network against email spam, phishing, and spyware

The Thermocopy Problem
- Some of Thermocopy’s employees were plagued with more than 70 – 100 spam emails a day, it took a lot of IT staff time and patience trying to help them and that was in addition to dealing with the numerous other spam-related support issues

- Thermocopy previously used Trend Micro ScanMail for Exchange, and IT manager Mr. Strader believes ‘Spam Titan is light years ahead of it’. ‘ We also tested Barracuda’s offering and found that it didn’t catch as much spam and was also tougher to setup and administer.’
The Problem Solved
- It was clear to Mr. Strader that it was time to research and evaluate a new email security solution. “We were looking for an email security solution that blocked spam and viruses reaching the network but it was also important that the solution gave users the ability to manage their own quarantines easily and effectively.”

- During the evaluation period, Thermocopy decided to implement SpamTitan on a VM host, they configured SpamTitan within minutes and left it running. ‘We didn’t have to install a software package on the exchange server or install clients on each PC, it was the simplest implementation ever, easily accomplished through a simple Web user interface.’
The Results
Thermocopy would without a doubt recommend SpamTitan, they did their research and it proved to be the best fit. “We are extremely happy. End users are actually loving reading through the quarantine reports and seeing things that they never even knew were happening on the backside. Spam has become a thing of the past and the burden of dealing with Spam is gone”. The Systems Network Administrator, in the past had to search for false positives manually and keep up with maintaining the software that resided on the exchange server. Now all they have to do is respond to questions the end users may have.
Lower IT Spend
Thermocopy now have a significantly lower IT spend – according to Mr. Strader SpamTitan was the best costing of any anti Spam Product they came across. ‘With SpamTitan all our system and product updates are included as is full technical support which is an excellent benefit for us.
