Galway, Ireland and Tampa, FL – February 6th 2014. Our high-performance SpamTitan email security solution continues its run of top spam detection rates and excellent performance in the latest Virus Bulletin Test which concluded in January 2014. According to VB Lab test director Martin Grooten ‘with a spam catch rate of 99.73%, SpamTitan performs very well out of the box. A 26th consecutive VBSpam award is something to be proud of’.
SpamTitan hasn’t missed a Virus Bulletin comparative since 2009, and has maintained an impressive spam catch rate, false positive rate as well as keeping the VB team happy with good design and reliable performances. 18 solutions were tested and this was SpamTitan’s 26th time to participate and the first time for the test to be carried out using the new SpamTitan 6.00 version of the virtual appliance.
The test director pondered the question whether routers sending spam willbecome a serious problem in the future. While spam filters are doing very well in the fightagainst spam, anti-spam developers must remain responsive as spam continues to evolve, adaptation to thechanges is essential. At SpamTitan we are committed to doing this and base much of our product development on customer recommendations. One of the new features in the latest version of SpamTitan is the addition of support for role-based administration, which allows domain administrators and end-users to manage their own policies, as well as support for greylisting.
These independent test results show that, while the spam problem is nowhere near solved, it hasbeen mitigated well with ever evolving sophisticate security solutions. This 26th consecutive award proves that our hard work is paying off and our customers are reaping the rewards in terms of having the very best protection from spam and viruses at an extremely competitive price.
