SpamTitan wins another Gold in the March Virus Bulletin Anti-spam test

Boston, Galway, March 4, 2010 – SpamTitan has once again achieved a Gold award on its third time to participate in the Virus Bulletin Anti-Spam Test. The Virus Bulletin is an independent global publication specific to the field of viruses and related malware. SpamTitan is the first anti-spam solution that runs on a virtual machine to take part in the Virus Bulletin test, demonstrating that SpamTitan is both an innovative and high quality product(spam blocker).

Virus Bulletin’s Anti-spam Test Director Martijn Grooten said that SpamTitans participation ‘resulted in another impressive final score, putting the product firmly in position as one of this month’s top five performers’. He added that ‘Like many products this month, SpamTitan had a lower spam catch rate than in the previous test – when it blocked more spam than any other product – but it also saw its false positive rate reduced’.

The purpose of the Virus Bulletin test is to tell potential customers that a product does what a good anti-spam filtering solution should do: i.e. block the vast majority of spam, with very few false positives. According to SpamTitan CEO Ronan Kavanagh ‘The Virus Bulletin anti-spam test in a very important industry certification. SpamTitans performance over the past 3 tests is a testament to the quality of the SpamTitan anti-spam solution, we are very pleased to once again come away with a gold award and another glowing recommendation’.
